The ING New York City Marathon that takes place on the 1st of November, is organized by Marathons International and is one of the biggest events of the world. Every year, they have about 100.000 subscribers, 600.000 dollar of prices, 2.000.000 spectators along the way and 315 people watching it on TV. This year, it is the 40th edition of the ING New York City Marathon.
Marathons International organizes marathon holiday worldwide. Where or when a marathon takes place, Marathons International is up to date. They arrange accommodation to after parties for participating people as well as not participating people. The minimum age is 18 years.
The marathon route of 40 km, starts at the Verrazzano Bridge of State Island, crossing Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and over the Queensborrough Bridge to Manhattan and the finish is in Central Park. They also organize a ‘Fun after Run Party’ that includes a hot and cold buffet.
Marathon Internationals also organizes a city excursion on the 30th and 31st of October. Under guidance you can see all the ‘highlights’ of Manhattan and they also organize an information day, a view weeks before the marathon that includes tips and advises during your stay in New York.
The marathon holidays will be flown with KLM or Northwest Airlines.
I’m trying to find out what kinds of supplies and how much of these supplies are used to put on the New York marathon (how much water, food, paper…). If anyone has a good link or has any information please let me know.
