2. Consider smaller airports- Flying into airports such as Girona airport for Barcelona can mean the chance to fly with a budget airline.

3. Try and avoid school holidays- if you do not have children then try and travel outside of the school holiday season. It can be worth checking school holidays online and marking them off on your travel calendar.

4. Consider staying in a holiday or vacation apartment rental rather than a hotel. You can often save a lot of money especially if you are a large group.

5. Be careful with your baggage allowance - many airlines are getting real tough with baggage allowances are several are charging high fees for going over. Airlines are becoming strict. Be careful.
