There's only one Grape Escape, and that's me!

Seriously though, I can't recommend Burgundy highly enough. I'm just back from Beaune. Beautiful countryside, cute little villages, incredible wines and long, long lunches with some of the finest food in the world.

Great list, and I'm particularly glad that you mentioned Malbecs, an emerging favorite of mine. I'm partial to my adopted home region's wines, though. Oregon Pinot Noirs have earned 90+ ratings in Wine Spectator consistently over the past few decades, and well-deserved. Tours of this scenic region are easy to come by. For example: http://www.hometownadvantage.com/category/services/step-on-and-chartered-tours/excursions/. And note that our summer often lingers well into October!

Thanks for telling us about your favourite blogs. There's so much out there a few tips like yours are invaluable. The Marrakesh site was especially useful as I planning a trip to North Africa in the near future. I'm a travel writer and spend my life getting about and it's so good to read about the travel experiences of others.
